  • You Don’t Need Astrology…

…to live the life you dream. You have all the necessary ingredients within you; after all, you were made in the image of the Creator, right? Just as a child has all the ingredients to be a perfect human being, so, too, you have everything within you to create and manifest the life you want: unlimited success, unbounded love, perfect health. In short, you have unlimited potential.

    Why, then, do you struggle?

Because you don’t know how to access and maintain your greatness. Instead, it lies buried under lifetimes of pain and unbridled passion. Both have tricked you into believing you are small. Seriously? Is the cosmos small? Is Consciousness limited? Then how can you feel so powerless as one born from the stars, from the very hand of God?

In truth, astrology is a system to help you gain mastery over your life through clarity. Though it is not the only system that accomplishes this, it is one of the original “limbs of yoga” that has stood the test of time, in fact, over thousands of years. And the reason being is because it works and because, in truth, it is a tool for enlightenment.

Let us bring the word enlightenment down from the clouds. Being “enlightened” is simply you without any “conditioning“. Each moment, each experience, whether in body or mind, is lodged in your psychic body as an impression, pleasant or unpleasant. These impressions must be expressed sooner or later through the law of karma or dissolved through understanding. How much karma does one have? The world renown spiritual master Swami Muktananda once said we have as much karma as every grain of sand on every beach throughout the world. That is a lot of karma!

What’s more is that these impressions serve as subconscious forces acting upon your faculty of discrimination, that part of your intellect from where we choose the beneficial over the temporarily pleasurable. Because of these impressions, this past life conditioning, you are subconsciously making choices “to keep safe” and to experience pleasure where you think it resides. In the end, you feel drained and frustrated, success and joy eluding you once again.

What to do? In my experience, the first and most important step is to find an authentic spiritual teacher who has “been there and done that” and who can guide you through your karma, helping you dissolve a good chunk of it through spiritual understanding and experience. After this, embracing esoteric and holistic systems can be very beneficial by serving as tools to help deepen your spiritual understanding. Astrology is one such tool.

Astrology arose from the great seers of India who wanted to help humankind live to their highest potential, as children of God and not slaves to ignorance. Astrology is a means to bring you more awareness of your conditioned past so that you can choose a better direction for your life. Right now, your past is a ball and chain that keeps you from making the best choices for yourself and others. What you think is a noble want or desire is, most often, simply a voice from the past telling you to go in a certain direction lest you suffer.

    But you know better…

You know those deep urges you have, the ones that speak to you when you lie awake at night or when you walk in solitude along a rocky coast, the sea pulling at another you? These are the urges of your infinite self, urges that if you learn to embrace purely, that is, without condition, will take you on an unbelievable journey within your own self, a journey of Love and joy, peace and gratitude. When that happens, there is no way your outer life remains stagnant and dry. Instead, it becomes a reflection of the greatness within you, a greatness that has always been yours and always will be.

Astrology is not the end of all ends but it is a tool to help set your soul free.

  • SuperMoon and the Spring Equinox

Today, another spring equinox is upon us, a time when day and night are in balance as the Sun continues its northward journey. This natural event affords us an opportunity to look within and give ourselves an honest evaluation, made more so by the co-occurring “SuperMoon”. Are we going where we want to go or are we simply letting our past compulsions and conditioning push us down the same ocean current we have gone before, a current that leads to frustration and dissatisfaction?

One way to help us sail a new ship is to use natural events, like the equinox, as a springboard to a greater understanding into our human condition. During the spring and fall equinoxes, there is an opportunity to experience a balance between the masculine and the feminine. Life on earth is possible because of the Sun and the Moon. Without either of these, life as we know it would not exist. The Sun, with light-giving warmth from its rays, is universally understood as necessary for life.

However, the Moon, too, is thought to be responsible. According to current research (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/moon-life-tides/), the Moon’s effect on the earth’s tides allowed simple protonucleic acids to “wash up” onto rocks where salt concentrations were high enough to spark their combination and replication. The Sun gives light and warmth and provides the catalyst for life; the Moon nurtures and soothes life through the movement of earth’s oceans.

In spiritual traditions the world over, the Sun is associated with the masculine and the Moon with the feminine. The Sun initiates and protects while the Moon soothes the heat of the Sun and guides its light toward a life-sustaining, harmonious outcome. In the same way, the masculine quality initiates action, gives indiscriminately and protects. The feminine quality receives action, guides it with discrimination and nurtures it with compassion and love.

Both qualities are found in every object in the universe, in varying proportions. In the same way, the masculine and feminine qualities are found in each of us. If you identify as male, then fundamentally your nature is to act and protect. In the highest sense, this means you would tend to “do right action at the right time.” For one who identifies as female, their tendency is to receive and guide action, using it to nurture and pacify. However, as human beings still in the midst of spiritual evolution, the masculine and feminine qualities are often out of balance; ie., we tend to have too much of one and not enough of the other.

During the equinox, when night and day are balanced, the masculine and feminine qualities are naturally aligned and we can take advantage of this for our own benefit. During this time, watch how you approach the day, see if you can exemplify the two qualities within your own self. In truth, the qualities are simply another manifestation of the “opposites” that comprise the physical world. In the inner world, the two qualities merge and play together effortlessly. Though the body manifests these qualities in one way or another, who you really are is beyond the physical, beyond bodies and substance, you are Life, itself.

Though you may exist in a woman’s body, you can manifest the masculine as much as the feminine. If you exist in a man’s body, the reverse is true. For most of us, however, our masculine and feminine is not whole. A man with too little feminine/too much masculine may tend to be curt, aggressive, lack sensitivity and compassion, find it difficult to express his emotions. A woman with too little masculine/too much feminine will find it hard to “hold her own”, to be decisive and independent. Likewise, a man with too much feminine/too little masculine will be hesitant, unaware of what needs to be done, and listless. A woman with too much masculine/too little feminine will be too assertive, high strung and demanding.

During this spring equinox, watch yourself in your day to day activities. Take an honest inventory of yourself by watching how you interact with family, friends, coworkers and strangers. Our relationships act as powerful mirrors which reflect back to us our state of mind — good and bad. Where can you improve? What stood out as beneficial? In this way, you can take another step toward living harmoniously within your own life.

  • A is for Astrology

In western cultures, most people are familiar with the astrology of the Greeks, ie, with what has become known as western astrology. But did you know that there is another system of astrology, one that has been in continual use since at least 2500 years before Alexander the Great and Aristotle? Called jyotish, the science of light, this form of astrology comes to us from ancient India.

For the past twenty-five years, jyotish, also known as Vedic astrology, has been the fastest growing system of astrology in the world, having become well established in America and now Europe. Known for its incredible capacity to predict future life events and situations, jyotish has a deeper, more profound purpose: to liberate a person from the compulsive thinking that prevents them from living a fulfilling and deeply satisfying life, one that will resonate with their innermost desires.

It’s really quite simple: your past affects what you think and do right now, and what you do right now, creates your future. This is called karma and the only thing more powerful than your karma is right action in the present moment. Astrology was born to help you take right action, to make the best possible choices so that your life prospers in a way that is meaningful to you.

Lifetimes ago, you experienced traumatic and catastrophic events that affect how you interact with the world, and, more significantly, how you accept yourself. Believing that the circumstances of life were the source of your pain, you built walls between you and what you want to achieve and this has caused you to feel unfulfilled. This is not because you don’t have the necessary talents and qualities, rather, it is only because you don’t know where to find the key to unlock them.

An astrological consultation with me helps you find the key to unlocking your highest potential. In your session, you will learn why you feel “stuck” and what you can do to move in the direction of your dreams. You already have the tools to succeed, to experience love and joy, to have healthy relationships and work that is natural and prosperous. You just need to be pointed in the right direction…

    That is my role. 🙂

Sessions are recorded and general natal readings include a personally written eBook containing helpful notes and specific actions you can take in order to live joyfully.

  • Spring Equinox: A Chance for Balance

The spring equinox, a time when light and darkness are in balance, is a reminder that the forces of nature within us can be in perfect harmony. This is especially true for our masculine and feminine energies. Typically, one or the other dominates within us. In reality, however, when these qualities are in perfect balance within us, we become balanced human beings.

According to Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, yogi, mystic and NY Times best-selling author, having the masculine and feminine qualities balanced within us, regardless of the sex of our body, makes a balanced human being.

All physical manifestations can only happen between polarities — positive–negative, masculine–feminine, Shiva–Shakti, man–woman. The moment we create a divide between the polarities, judgments about perceived superiority and inferiority between the two arise. Out of these judgments, many layers of confusion, ugliness, and exploitation have occurred. Male and female are just manifestations of either the masculine or the feminine being present in an enhanced way. The fact that you are sitting here as a woman does not mean that your father does not exist within you, and the same applies to men and their mothers, of course. If you recognise this truth and nurture both the masculine and the feminine within you so that they are on an even keel, you will be a balanced human being. If you only nurture the masculine, the crassness of machismo will find expression. If you only nurture the feminine, an excessive sense of decorativeness and emotion will find expression.

During this natural time of balance, seek balance in your own life. Pay attention to how you are in your day-to-day interactions with people: family, friends, work colleagues or strangers. Life, itself, is the greatest teacher.

  • Star Report: November 2018

This month a significant change has taken place affecting our lives at a very profound level. The nodes of the moon crossed from one sign to another, an event of great importance, especially when considering that the nodes stay in each sign for aproximately one year and a half.

The south node, Ketu, traveled from Sagittarius to Capricorn. Ketu represents our past and indicates what we use to protect ourselves against what we fear the most. This fear makes us uptight about the areas Ketu influences and so we wrap our arms even tighter around that which we should learn to let go, currently being represented by Capricorn.

Capricorn is the sign where we become in-tune with our deeper self. It is the sign where we receive our “marching orders” in proceeding with the rest of our life. From an enlightened perspective, Capricorn is where one hears the command of God and readies himself for action.

The tendency, however, as Ketu transits Capricorn, is to rely too much on organization and methodology, on detachment and perseverance, at any cost. However, as an indicator of the past, Ketu tells us that by doing so, we will meet with resistance and obstacles. Now is not the time to rely so much on structure and detachment; rather, we want to bring in more emotion, love and compassion into our daily life as indicated by Ketu’s opposite, Rahu, the north node.

Rahu’s move into Cancer this month indicates a need for us to embrace our deeper, emotional self. Cancer is a feminine sign and embraces the qualities of motherhood, nurturing and compassion. As the fourth sign, Cancer is where our emotions are expressed and where we find contentment and stability. As such, the next year and a half will find us drawn into situations that require a strong connection to our emotional self. Being stoic, unemotional, dry and aloof is not the best approach during this time. Compassion, love, sensitivity and being unencumbered to express ourselves emotionally will serve us much better.

This is not to say we should lose our inner stability. Emotions expressed purely and from a place of groundedness will be supportive in our interactions with others. Unbridled emotions, like a herd of wild horses, will make the way difficult to see. Rahu is a jungle we must cross through and though we may bet lost, it is not in our best interest.
