Scorpio and the Land of I Don’t Know
    Issue 43 Volume 8 27 October 2025

In the land of I know, there is always competitiveness, jealousy, pretence, pride, and arrogance. It is an aggressive realm — the realm of the ego. I say refuse citizenship. In the land of I don’t know, the inhabitants move without conflict and are naturally quiet, happy, and peaceful. The wise stay here.

    Dear wonderful neighbour and fellow traveller;

Do I know? Do you know? Does anyone know? 🤔

Scorpio is the mysterious 8th sign of the zodiac, a sign that spans the spectrum of human experience. On the one hand, the 8th house represents Karma’s hammer which can pound into oblivion a person’s dreams and hopes in a heartbeat. On the other hand, it offers experiences so profound even Death becomes a loyal servant, though it takes courage to fully grasp its mysteries.

Like the 8th house in astrology, Scorpio is associated with death and disease, but it is also the bestower of the awakened life, life that transcends the normal boundaries, both physical and psychological. To experience its depth, however, requires us to show up on the battlefield in our own mind and fight the fight that must be fought. This takes courage, but of a different kind than the soldier who stands his ground in the middle of war’s chaos. This courage is humility’s friend and awakens when we enter the land of I Don’t Know.

I don’t know; three simple words that are so seldom heard, yet, when we embrace the intent behind their meaning, we open a door to something greater than all the books in all the libraries of the world: knowing. Knowing is stronger than faith, more real than hope, and more profoundly exhilarating than knowledge. Paradoxically, knowing can only arise when we enter the land of I Don’t Know.

I once attended a mysterious 3-day course which took place in the late hours of the night in the Catskills of New York at the ashram of my guru. The Fire Course was an 8th house kind of course. About two hundred participants were positioned in concentric circles around seven large fire pits which provided the only light other than the stars above. Even the Moon had given way to the penetrating stillness of the night where the fire served to reflect back to each of us our worst fears — and our greatest attributes.

For several hours, a mysterious voice called out a name and asked that person to “Stand and face the fire!” A microphone was thrust into their hand and in front of all the others, they were asked to answer a question on the spiritual process. These were not easy questions to answer, many from centuries old sacred texts. It was the classic guru-disciple teaching paradigm at the heart of spiritual traditions across the globe, but this one unfolded in front of hundreds of one’s peers. There was no place to hide.

No one knew if their name would be called which added to the suspense and intrigue of the night. For those petrified, just the wait was a revealing exercise whether they were called or not. Even those wanting to be asked soon discovered if their desire was pure or tainted by ego.

As it so happened, my name was called. Facing the fire, mic in hand, I had absolutely no idea what the answer was — my mind was a complete blank which turned out to be a blessing. As I gazed intently into the fire, I remembered the guru telling us weeks before that if we surrendered to Love when faced with the unknown, any answer was the right answer. In that moment of intensity, standing in the silence of the night, I discovered a drop of sweetness deep inside. Sure enough, when I drew my attention to it, it became a wellspring of Love. I had no answer save to embrace this Love, but that answer was the perfect one.

I don’t knowthree of the loveliest words you will hear from a sincere seeker of truth whether they seek answers in the mundane or the profound. It matters not if you hear it at a spiritual retreat or in the middle of a podcast on politics and religion, these words invite grace for grace is fuelled by humility when I don’t know is offered with a pure heart.

Do not wait for the 8th house karma to pound you into submission. Sooner or later it will, for the personality to which we cling is not the answer nor are the “my truths’ we hang on the wall of our mind next to our diplomas and certificates. This is not a position of weakness, on the contrary, you will find that Life seeks you out like a loyal dog who only wants to please the master.

When we sincerely embrace I don’t know, we are telling God we are an open door through which He can think and act through us. In essence, I don’t know is a profound spiritual state of willingness that is simply open to what is. This month, let Scorpio be your friend and remove any opinion about anything. Instead, simply look at things like a scientist looks at a strain of bacteria in a Petri dish. With practice, you will discover that Love is there to greet you every time and just like someone once said, “Love IS the answer.”

    🤗

    Warm thoughts and many blessings,

    Happy Halloween!

Instead of pumpkin pie, how about some food for thought?

One of my favourite short stories in secondary school was The Monkey’s Paw by W. W. Jacobs (1863—1943), an English author known mostly for this story. It tells how a family comes across a monkey’s paw that is said to grant three wishes. Though skeptical, the father asks for more money, so the next day he receives a company compensation when his son is killed at the factory. A few weeks later, in a state of desperation, the mother takes the monkey’s paw and wishes for her son to come back. When she and her husband soon hear something coming up the steps, the man realises that what is approaching their room will not be the son as they knew himbut a monstrosity from the grave, so he quickly grabs the paw and wishes for the son to be gone. It works.

What is the difference between intent and intention? The short answer is that one leads to salvation while the other “paves the way to hell.” Many a good-hearted person lives their life from a place of good intentions; they sincerely strive to make the world a better place. Yet, too often, their intentions make matters worse. Have you experienced this? Most of us have.

Intentions, good or bad, arise from the field of past impressions accumulated through countless lives, including this one. This field of impressions is where we derive our personality, an illusion based upon our past fears and concerns, our hopes and dreams How can anything based upon what is so illusory ever achieve the results we seek?

Certainly, our intentions may happen to match with ‘good’ results, but who is the judge?

Sadhguru speaks about “misplaced compassion.” He shares the story of how as a young man, he saw a bull being shoed, the process of nailing iron ‘bullshoes’ onto the bull’s hooves to protect them. The bull looked to be in pain during the shoeing which made a lasting impact upon Sadhguru. Later, when he had his own farm and his bulls needed new shoes, he refused though he was warned it was not good. Within a few months of working the farm, the bull’s hooves were cracked and split causing the bulls to become lame. As Sadhguru said, what could have been just 30 minutes of pain (during the initial shoeing), became months of agony for them because of his choice to forego the shoeing process. Though his concern was real, his compassion was misplaced.

As the man said, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Halloween Special! Do you have the courage to open the door to your 8th House? Don’t worry. It’s not a house of horrors; it’s just your karmic past saying, “Feed me!” This month, let’s look deeply at your 8th house, your hidden fears and what you can do to slay your inner demons. Weekly Planning Forecast

    Scorpio Sun…
    23 October — 22 November

The Sun in Scorpio underscores the profound yearning to fully engage the spiritual journey. We all share this capacity, but it is up to each of us to take the first step. Scorpio people are intense, passionate, and characterised by a willingness to comb the unseen, within and without.

Scorpio relates to the awakening the soul experiences when the dormant spiritual energy within (kundalini) is awakened. Yet, the process needs guidance and for this reason one should never attempt to awaken this energy without the guidance of a master who has tread the path.

    Sun in Aditya Amshuman…
Before the arrival of the Greeks, the ‘zodiac’ used in India was a 360 degree circle based upon the Sun’s movement (Adityas). The Aditya corresponding to Scorpio is
Amshuman which relates to the radiant one. This highlights the nature of Amshuman as the sign that relates to spiritual knowledge, ritual, and esoteric knowledge, especially as a means to navigate the world.😊

Now thru JUL 26 2026: Rahu in Pisces: Loss of boundaries; excessive empathy; heightened creative expression and imagination.

Once your intelligence is turned inward, you will understand that life is not something you do — it’s something you allow. ~ Sadhguru

    Dear wonderful neighbour and fellow traveller;

The phrase as above, so below is attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, a legendary figure associated with ancient Egyptian and Greek wisdom traditions. It originates from the Emerald Tablet, a Hermetic text whose earliest known version appears in Arabic writings from the late eighth or early ninth century. The modern paraphrase is based on a Latin translation of the tablet’s second verse, which states “That which is above is like to that which is below, and that which is below is like to that which is above“.

As we leave Libra and move into Scorpio, it’s a good time to reacquaint ourselves with the Cosmic Man a profound archetype found across the world in various religious, philosophical, and mythological traditions, symbolising the totality and interconnectedness of all existence. A human being is a conscious reflection of the Cosmic Man, capable of experiencing transcendence, self-awareness, and sensitivity to the deeper realities of existence. Scorpio is where this possibility gains momentum — and where it can stall.

In Vedic astrology, the Cosmic Man embodies the twelve signs of the zodiac and represents the journey of the human soul, from consciousness (Aries) to Consciousness (Pisces). Fortunately for us, it is not up to us whether we embark on this journey: our destiny is set — if we are here as a human, we eventually experience our interconnectedness with all existence, in this life or a future one. As with any contract, though, it’s what’s in the fine print that really matters.

God is a rather compassionate fellow and He certainly enjoys a good yarn, so He gave us free will to write our own story. Good, bad, ugly — it’s completely up to us! Yet, God is also very wise. He knew that if He simply opened the gates to His kingdom, we would party like there is no tomorrow. So he did two things to keep us honest: he created the law of karma and he hid the key to his kingdom in a most unlikely place. Scorpio rules both these.

Karma at its root is Sanskrit for ‘action’. In practical terms, it means if you ridicule the new barista for serving you a macchiato instead of a cortado, you have created a ripple in the Cosmos that will eventually find its way back to you. Wise folks have referred to this as ‘you reap what you sow’ or, as my Finnish ancestors would have told their children, metsä vastaa niinkuin sinne huudetaan (shout into the forest and it will answer back). I’d even guess that apple-loving fellow Sir Isaac must have known about karma when he formulated his Third Law of Motion: for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Scorpio is the 8th sign and the 8th sign embraces the law of karma. Scorpio means you may fool someone once and even twice, but in the end, it will be you holding the bag of consequences, the sting of the scorpion. Eventually, we begin to understand that what we do, and what we think, creates the melody of our life. If we are very wise, then we begin to associate change with karma, both our individual karma and the collective karma of which our individual karma is a subset.

In time, with the help of amazing grace or just good luck, we come to understand that change is an opportunity because it is only through change that transformation can occur. Change may come gently or jolt us into hyper awareness. Either way, we make contact with the unseen aspects of our self, what Jung refers to as the shadow mind, that part of us that is usually unconscious. Change brings this shadow mind into our awareness — if we have the courage to look beyond the familiar.

For this reason, Scorpio is the sign that relates to the mystical, the unseen, the ethereal realms. Esoteric arts like astrology, numerology, and tarot cards are ruled by Scorpio and one’s 8th house. This is why you typically find a strong 8th house in the charts of highly intuitive people and those who work with the occult sciences. It is through the mystical that we find where God hid the keys to His kingdom.

There is an old story that tells how God wanted to hide the keys to His kingdom in a not so obvious place. After all, we humans need to work for what we receive or we don’t respect it. A wise archangel suggested the deepest part of the ocean, but God answered that one day, humans would go there. “What about the Moon?” the archangel asked. ‘“The Moon, too, shall know the steps of humans,” God replied. Then God suddenly beamed. “I know! I shall put the keys to my kingdom in a place they will rarely look! The human heart!”

Scorpio holds the keys to God’s kingdom. It is discovered only when we intentionally comb the depths of our own being, but this takes courage — immense courage, for the spiritual journey at its core is a peeling away of layers of who we are not, layers we believe are paramount to our survival. For countless lifetimes, we have invested heavily in our conditioned mind. It has become the castle walls we hide behind with the slightest provocation, be it an unkind word from a friend, a humiliating situation, or simply an unfulfilled desire that keeps us up at night, not realising we seek it from a feeling of incompleteness and separation.

Yogis and mystics “live” in the 8th house for they have combed the depths of their inner world and discovered the keys to God’s kingdom where they reside not as an individual, but as the whole. We, too, can find the key and every human being on Earth will eventually discover the key — this IS our destiny — to know and experience our interconnectedness with all life. Scorpio is the sign that points the way.

This month, do what you can to fire up the courage to face your trials and tribulations like a warrior, not with clenched fist, but with one-pointed determination. Scorpio is ruled by the warrior planet, Mars, and through Nov 4th, Mars will be in Scorpio giving you an edge. During this time, Mars will be with the Sun and, together, you can experience great progress when you stand firm in the face of challenge and leave the comfort and security of the castle. The battle is not within the walls, but outside where you are vulnerable. It’s the battle that most be fought, but one you are already destined to win.

By the way, in case you are wondering, the difference between a macchiato, (Italian origin) and a cortado (Spanish origin) primarily relates to the espresso-to-milk ratio. A cortado is made with equal parts espresso and steamed milk which noticeably softens the espresso intensity. A macchiato is espresso with just a small amount of steamed milk added on top maintaining most of the espresso’s unmodified intensity. Both are like little lattes.

Now that you now, please don’t give that new barista a hard time. 😁

    🤗

    Warm thoughts and many blessings,

    Astrology Monday

    Moon Planner
Has the Moon got you hurried and harried?
No worries! The Moon represents the feminine and your capacity to receive and recognise the resources you have available to fulfil your emotional needs. Too often, we get distracted with what is not ours and miss out on the available opportunity, experiencing disappointment and disillusionment, or worse, we become like my hairy friend, Monsieur Lou Garou. 🤭

    New Moon
Tuesday, 21 October: New Moon in Libra (12:25 BST )
New Moons are best spent quietly in meditation and reflection to allow for latent insights to rise to the surface so you can allow them to work their magic.

The Libra New Moon is an opportunity to come clean about what you are really seeking in your relationships. With Venus anchored in Libra, its own sign, the Moon’s presence indicates a deep emotional need for human love while the Sun indicates sacrificing your own creative integrity for the love of another. Thus, an opportunity is presenting itself to you to reevaluate your relationships OR your desire for relationship. Venus is conditional love and though it is a part of human life and not to be shunned, if we allow it to dominate our emotional needs (Moon), we may find our authenticity and self-respect compromised. This only particular planetary setup only lasts for a few days, so make the most of it and see it as an opportunity to understand yourself better that you might embrace relationships from your highest intentions.

Hint: Arise early and meditate! Find some quiet time. Be still, be silent! Close the eyes and turn off the phone. It will be there when you open them again. Excellent 7-minute meditation app.

Now thru JUL 26 2026: Rahu in Pisces: Loss of boundaries; excessive empathy; heightened creative expression and imagination.
Now thru JUN 30, 2026: Jupiter exalted in Cancer: Heart-centred approach brings rewards when emotions are tied to your good intention and not selfish gain.

    This Week’s Focus

Libra and the masculine and feminine balance
    Issue 41 Volume 8 13 October 2025

You’ve probably heard the quote, Music soothes the savage beast.Actually, the original phrase was from a play by English playwright William Congreve in 1697 and goes, “Music has charms to soothe a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.” And what might the savage breast be? An untamed heart… The feminine (symbolised by music) has the power to soothe an unruly and inflexible masculine.

This gives deeper meaning to the sign of Libra, the sign of relationship. Libra is a masculine sign (Air) ruled by a feminine planet (Venus) — a situation many men experience in their relationships, though they may be unaware. Indeed, most men probably say they take the lead in their relationship. The truth, however, is more likely that women let the man think he takes the lead in the relationship. Such are the ways of love… and the wisdom of the feminine. 🤭😄

Image: Union of Souls (1896) by Max Švabinský

    Dear wonderful neighbour and fellow traveller;

Libra is symbolised by the scales and is the sign of balance, specifically, between the masculine and feminine. As an air sign, Libra expresses itself through masculine qualities like leadership, personal will, planning, and action. Ruled by Venus, Libra seeks to do this through the guidance of the feminine, e.g., art, beauty, diplomacy, emotions, and romance. This is why many individuals with strong Libra influences often become powerful advocates for the arts or humanitarian and ecological causes.

In order to fully embrace the next sign, Scorpio, the masculine and feminine nature must be in balance. As in the natural world, human beings typically seek this balance in a biologically opposite mate, a definite aspect of Libra. However, this outward expression of Libra can only be a support, never a resolution. The masculine/feminine balance is only achieved from within and is a cornerstone of the mystical experience symbolised by Scorpio which we will discuss next week.

Another way of understanding this is that the evolving soul in Virgo takes on a worldly identity through education and career in order to resolve its lack of fulfilment. When the world in this way fails to satisfy the soul’s restlessness, the soul expands its identity to include the partner symbolised by Libra. This, too, eventually fails to live up to its billing, a fortunate circumstance for now the soul has no choice but to turn within where it begins the journey back to its authentic nature (Consciousness). Thus, Libra denotes an important step in the evolution of the soul towards its ultimate fulfilment.

As Sadhguru says, “The only way out is in.” 🤗

    Warm thoughts and many blessings,

    David 🙏🏻

    Astrology Monday

    Weekly Planning Forecast

    Libra Sun…
    22 September — 22 October

The Sun in Libra underscores how relationships blossom when we maintain our sense of self and authenticity. Handing our power over to someone else because of low self-worth is a recipe for discord, dependency, and even abuse.

Libra relates to “the other.” After finding career and recognition in Virgo, we turn towards relationship thinking this will bring the fulfilment we seek. It does not, but the soul passing through Libra is still a necessary step before spiritual awakening in Scorpio.

    Sun in Aditya Vishnu…
Before the arrival of the Greeks, the ‘zodiac’ used in India was a 360 degree circle based upon the Sun’s movement (Adityas). The Aditya corresponding to Libra is
Vishnu which relates to the one who maintains order through both worldly and spiritual duties. This highlights the nature of Vishnu as the sign that relates to the transformation from king to sage, a necessary transformation on the path to liberation. 😊

    This Week’s Focus

Crash Course: Libra, Womb Energy, and Sexual Relations
    Issue 40 Volume 8 06 October 2025

There is more respect in the East for women and for their role in society. Here in the West, the woman is not fully appreciated. Her contribution is underrated and misunderstood. In fact, this is one of the reasons she seeks fulfilment and recognition in other spheres, because Western society has become oblivious of her unique and vital role. Abused by neglect and disregard, she seeks other avenues where she may be appreciated, recognised and rewarded. Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami (1927 — 2001), Living with Siva (2001)

    Dear wonderful neighbour and fellow traveller;

What follows is a crash course on a profound topic that can help you transform your life. This topic is complex, but the message is simple: everything is energy and the wise ones know how to use energy for the good of all… we can too. 😉

Astrophysicists, religious pundits, and yogis agree that in the beginning, there was an incomprehensible ‘explosion’ of energy which ultimately created the Cosmos and everything in it. Science calls this the ‘Big Bang’, religion speaks of the ‘word of God’, and yoga refers to the ‘primordial AUM’. In essence, who we think we are, including our body, mind, and spirit, is energy and as the first law of thermodynamics states, energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one form to another.

The Astrology of Joy newsletter I offer each week is unapologetically geared towards women in large part because most of you reading this are female. Nevertheless, what is discussed is applicable to both men and women, even this month’s chat about wombs and womb energy. A man who understands and respects the feminine energy in all its forms is better able to support the pure expression of the feminine and not a ‘masculinised’ version which has run rough shod over the feminine quality for decades — ironically, in large part by women. The feminine is an absolutely vital aspect of Life and when it is regularly undercut by a ‘poverty of consciousness’, the beauty, compassion, and joy of life struggles to express itself in its purity.

    As we noted last week,
a woman’s womb is a powerful storehouse of spiritual energy. Though its primary purpose is to conceive and nurture life, the energy in reserve required to support this purpose profoundly influences the nature of a woman, e.g., to be caring, compassionate, and nurturing — qualities required to be a mother, a role a woman inherently imbibes, even if only in principle. This same energy easily allows a woman to transcend the normal physical experience and perceive other dimensions of reality and more readily than a man (generally speaking).

Why would she not? The simple answer is because of a poverty of consciousness that prevents her from realising and experiencing the innate power of her womb energy. In a masculinised world that puts so much emphasis on the sexual experience, indiscriminate sex is arguably the greatest threat to her experiencing the majesty and miracle of her own being. This is not a moral issue; it’s an energetic one.

Most women do not understand the greatness of the feminine quality that manifests within them (nor men, for that matter, but that’s for another issue). In India not long ago, Sadhguru made it a point to admonish women for allowing their bodies to become objectified by men. He was not addressing any woman in particular, but women as a whole. There are many layers to this, of course, but the point is that spiritual beings like Sadhguru experience the importance of the feminine not only in the world but in ourselves. Between any two objects in this world, including between us humans, there is an energetic exchange. The more intimate and physical that exchange, the greater the energetic bond created. This is not labelling anything as right or wrong; rather, it is a reminder that everything we do and everything we think has consequences. Remember? Energy is neither created nor destroyed, only transformed. Just like in law, ignorance is not an excuse. The consequences of energy exchange will be experienced.

One of the great pitfalls of liberal ideology in recent times, is the belief that self-discipline has little or no value in a person’s life, that “if it feels good, it must be right”. Spiritual beings from all traditions have for centuries cautioned us against such beliefs, and this is especially true for promiscuity. Sadhguru warns both men and women of the energetic price paid for promiscuity that can affect our lives in unimaginable ways. Likewise, many gurus such as the well-respected yogi Sivaya Subramuniyaswami and founder of Hinduism Today magazine speak of a cord or tube of energy created between two people who have intercourse that lasts for up to twelve years. Sadhguru elaborates and tells us this “body memory” creates insecurity and is one of the primary agents for discord.

This energy tube is actually an ingenious protective mechanism nature has created in the chance that a child is born from the coming together of a man and woman. This tube influences the emotional minds of both at a profound level and creates a bond between them. This is why it is harder to separate from a sexual partner than a partner where sex had not occurred. Again, do not think of this in terms of morals or you will miss the point. Morals are human inspired; energy interaction is not. There is no judgement being handed down; rather, there are simply natural laws that have consequences. Let go of a brick over your bare toe, and gravity will remind you natural laws have consequences. 🤭

Not surprisingly, modern science is coming to the same conclusions. Cardiologist Dr. Paul Pearsall in his bestselling book The Heart’s Code writes:

From a cardio-energetic point of view, it may not be possible to engage in “casual” sex. Every mechanistic act of genital juxtaposition and mutual pelvic gymnastics may also be a vital-fluid, connective-energy exchange. What we mechanistically refer to as a climax is really a powerful end to the build-up to an energetic bond. Whenever we “make love,” and whether or not we combine cells to make a new life, we are creating new cellular memories within and between two life systems. We are engaging in an energetic event that, because of the principle of nonlocality and the fact that elements once in contact are forever connected, becomes a permanent cellular memory of and for each lover. If our intent is to avoid energetic commitment, no sex is “safe” sex.

Self-realised spiritual master Gurumay Chidvilasananda warned us many years ago in a public programme that we take on the karma of those with whom we are intimate. Don Juan, Carlos Castaneda’s shaman guru, said that our past sexual experiences are a major obstacle on the spiritual path and advised his students to ‘recapitulate’ all past experiences as a means of not only taking back your energy from your sexual partners, but returning the energy you took from them.

Note: A simple form of recapitulation is to hold the memory of an encounter with someone from the past, breathe in with the intention of “taking back your energy” and breathe out with the intention of giving back to them what you took. Do this with focused intent and you will find it is an amazing process. This need not be done for just sexual partners, but for any past interaction with another.

Modern society through marketing spaces, the entertainment industry, and powerful organisations with agendas have intentionally promoted the idea of sex without consequences for at least 100 years. As spiritual beings, however, we understand that nothing is free. There are no morals to this story. This is not about being prudish or sentencing everyone to celibacy. It is simply asking you to pause, be conscious, and be discriminating in your actions. Ask yourself if what you are about to do is going to take you where you want to go. If so, then great! If not, why go on?

Without a doubt, every woman has available to her by virtue of being born a woman a powerful ally within her that can help her open the door to both spiritual dimensions and the halls of worldly success. Perhaps there was a time when women felt powerless because of their position in society, but in modern times, women are empowered to live their lives according to their own ideas. The more women come into this realisation, the better the feminine will express itself as it should. Men also have a responsibility and must pull their weight. Together, both men and women can make the world a better place, as we should.

    Warm thoughts and many blessings,

    David 🙏🏻 🤗

    Astrology Monday:
    Just the facts, please!
An American icon from 60s television, hard-boiled detective Joe Friday always insists on “just the facts”.

    This week’s no-nonsense forecast:

    Worldly fulfilment
    Mars/Mercury in Scorpio
Scorpio is Mars’s second home. Scorpio is more mystical and psychological than worldly. Still, Scorpio is a great guide to any endeavour. The sting of the Scorpio scorpion tells us when we are off track.

With Mercury in Scorpio today through 28 October, an enemy to Mars, we can feel that our efforts do not amount to much. Be watchful of becoming overwhelmed with options. Pick a few and throw yourself into those. Continue the ones that work.

    Saturn retrograde in Pisces
This combination causes fear and concern because our imagination can get away from us. However, Saturn’s retrograde status helps us recognise previous fear-inspired choices so we can create a better plan to resolve current issues. If struggling, rethink your game plan.

    Spiritual fulfilment
    Mars/Mercury in Scorpio
Scorpio is where the will of Mars makes great gains in shining a light into the dark corners of the unconscious. This is why Scorpio is also the sign of mysticism and mystical experience. With Mercury, don’t rationalise away mystical experience. Keep things simple.

    Ongoing

    Solar Eclipse (effects through October)
Material connection and abundance get a boost from learning where you are not embracing your natural talents and abilities. Being false stems from the fear of losing control. Step back, look at your life objectively, then have courage to be who you always knew you were. This eclipse is extremely beneficial if you allow it to reveal where you deceive yourself.

    Uranus in Gemini!
Uranus is in Gemini thru 8 November, giving us a preview of the next seven years beginning 26 April, 2026. Uranus is your authentic nature yearning to be freed. If you are struggling, it simply means you are not honouring your authenticity. You are living a lie and Uranus wants to put an end to your falsehoods and pretence. Let it show you the way.

    Jupiter in Cancer
Jupiter in Cancer is an opportunity to find fulfilment through service, creativity, and abundance. Keep your Jupiter pointed high. Jupiter can become distracted and very ordinary through material goals. Nothing wrong with these as long as they don’t take the lead.

    Full Moon in Aries
Tuesday, 7 October: Full Moon in Aries (04:47 BST )
Full moons magnify your emotional mind, good or bad. There is science behind this: just as full moons create higher than usual tides on earth, so there is a natural draw of fluids into your brain. Full moons are a great opportunity to access profound emotions through spiritual practice and alone time bringing you deeper insights and intuition.

This Aries Full Moon is a welcome relief after the Moon/Saturn/Rahu conjunction in Pisces this past weekend which could easily make mountains out of mole hills. As it is, the Full Moon occurs with Neptune indicating the potential for expansive thinking and spiritual insight. Be sure your vision is in step with your circumstances as this combination vcan indicate building castles in the air. If you are a creative, this is not a concern and you can let your mind go. For those in more mundane pursuits, be expansive in your perspective, but keep it real.😉

Mother’s milk from mother Moon: Gaze at the beauty of the full moon for an extended time paying close attention to the source of the feelings that arise within you. You can also leave milk in a clear, covered glass overnight on a window sill where it will catch the full moon’s rays. In the morning, consume the milk. Milk easily absorbs the positive energy of the Moon. It is best to use organic, whole milk, raw if possible.

    Important dates (2025 — 2026)
    2025
JUL 14 — 8 NOV: Uranus in Gemini! Revolution brings innovation. Bend, but don’t break.
SEP 22 — 4 NOV: Mars in Scorpio; spiritual intensity or worldly objectives awaken through right action.
SEP 1 thru 28 NOV: Saturn retrograde in Pisces; great time to review long range plans.
    Now thru 2026 and beyond
Now thru JUL 26 2026: Rahu in Pisces: Loss of boundaries; excessive empathy; heightened creative expression and imagination.
Now thru JUN 30, 2026: Jupiter exalted in Cancer: Heart-centred approach brings rewards when emotions are tied to your good intention and not selfish gain.
SEP 1 2025 — FEB 13 2026: Saturn in Pisces: Tendency towards fear-based decisions; loss of boundaries; strong creative ideas
FEB 14 2026— APR 12 2028: Saturn in Aries: Weakening foundation; supports taking calculated risks. Prudence is fine; obsessively cautious denies needed change.

    Hero’s Journey
The journey of the hero is about the courage to seek the depths; the image of creative rebirth; the eternal cycle of change within us; the uncanny discovery that the seeker is the mystery which the seeker seeks to know. ~ Joseph Campbell,

True gurus are those who have reached the highest expression of human potential and help us find the way. I most often quote Sadhguru and highlight his practices and events simply because he is arguably the most publicly available guru today. Initially, his mission on Earth was to install the Dhyanalinga, an energy form not seen for over 2000 years, but something wonderful happened after his body recovered from the enormous energy drain of such a profound process: he decided to stick around to touch the lives of as many as possible… 😉

Libra: The Miracle of the Womb
    Issue 39 Volume 8          29 September 2025
A woman is the work of God, perfected. She gives birth, life, and nourishment, just as the earth brings forth plants and trees. Hildegard von Bingen (1098 – 1179), German Benedictine abbess, polymath, author, composer, philosopher, mystic, visionary, medical practitioner, and most recorded composer in modern history. Also considered by many scholars to be the founder of scientific natural history in Germany; On Natural Philosophy and Medicine: Selections from Cause et Cure. (M. Berger, Trans.). D. S. Brewer, p. 67.

Nelida explained that the womb’s primary function is reproduction in order to perpetuate our species. But unbeknownst to women, the womb also has subtle and sophisticated secondary functions. And it was these, she said, that she and I were interested in developing. — Taisha Abelar (1945? — 1998?), American writer and anthropologist and associate of Carlos Castaneda; from The Sorcerer’s Crossing: A Woman’s Journey (1992, p.183), Abelar’s spiritual autobiography.

    Dear wonderful neighbour and fellow traveller;

In astrology, Libra represents the womb…

In recent years, a major controversy erupts whenever someone attempts to define a woman. At the core of this debate is whether biology or a person’s self-assigned identity should be given preference in modern society, replacing traditional views on sex and gender. Such debate does not go deep enough because of what I call a poverty of consciousness. Though this phrase has been used to describe a mindset of lack (poverty), I find it accurately describes the mindset of a human being who limits their experience of life only to what they perceive through the five senses. As meditators and seekers of the divine, we understand how limiting our experience of life only to that which comes through our senses not only prevents us from knowing the nature of our existence, but invariably denies the essence of who we are.

According to yogic science, a human being is made up of several sheaths. Sadhguru describes this simply as the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic bodies, each more subtle than the previous. In astrology, the physical body is primarily described through the ascendent, the mental body through Mars, the emotional body through the Moon, and the energetic body through the Sun. I always examine your horoscope through the lens of these different bodies. The more subtle the body, the greater the influence upon you and your life. This is why delineating your horoscope from the perspective of the Sun is so significant.

What does all this have to do with defining a woman? Simply put, a biological woman has an energetic powerhouse within her that biological men do not. Indeed, this energetic powerhouse within a woman is a part of her nature. In the physical body, this powerhouse manifests as the womb.

The only reason there is controversy around the definition of a woman is because modern society is largely blind towards anything that is not discernible through the five senses — this is the fundamental weakness of science. Modern science regards the womb strictly in physical terms and ignores its subtler aspects as an energetic powerhouse capable of holding the enormous energy needed to create and sustain life. This energy greatly influences a woman’s consciousness and undoubtedly separates her from a man, not only biologically, but in many respects, spiritually.

According to a study by Fetzer Institute’s National Religion and Spirituality Survey, women are more likely than men to identify as spiritual, with 57% of women describing themselves as spiritual compared to 43% of men and where 55% of women express a doubt-free belief in God compared to 43% of men. Women are also more likely to report a strong connection to a higher power, with 40% saying they feel “highly connected” versus 26% of men. Even in terms of spiritual practices, women are significantly more engaged, participating in activities like prayer, meditation, attending religious services, and spending time in nature at higher rates than men. These results hold across different age groups and in both religious and non-religious contexts.

Sadhguru recently explained that the reason so many religions were male dominated in ancient societies was because men needed the structure that religions offered. Women, he said, could simply live their lives and attain everything. Perhaps they watched all the fuss men would go to over religion, look at one another, and roll their eyes, all the while experiencing the bliss of Life throbbing within as they went about their day.

Ultimately, of course, as we go even further into the nature of our existence, we discover there is only One Consciousness — from this perspective we are neither man nor woman. Nevertheless, the womb gives enormous potential to a woman even beyond its capacity to nourish and house a fertilised egg through its full development as a human being. I have spoken with many women who have expressed how the womb ‘speaks’ to them (and the ovaries, another aspect of Libra). According to Taisha Abelar, an associate of Carlos Castaneda and a student of don Juan, her spiritual mentor told her:

“The womb is the way female animals sense things and regulate their bodies,” she said. “Through the womb, women can generate and store power in their (energy bodies) to build or destroy or to become one with everything around them” (The Sorcerer’s Crossing: A Woman’s Journey, 1992, p.184)

Every doctor will tell you the enormous amount of energy required for a woman to sustain a life inside her for nine months. This energy potential is not dependent upon whether a woman is pregnant or not. The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. Thus, a woman always has this storehouse of energy at her disposal. This is how she was created. By utilising the womb’s inherent energy reserve for the spiritual process, she can explode into dimensions beyond the physical.

    Warm thoughts and many blessings,

    Astrology Monday:
    Just the facts, please!
An American icon from 60s television, hard-boiled detective Joe Friday always insists on “just the facts”.

    This week’s no-nonsense forecast:
    Worldly fulfilment
    Solar Eclipse (effects through October)
Material connection and abundance get a boost from learning where you are not embracing your natural talents and abilities. Once realised, you can adjust your life to make sure those talents are being utilised in the best possible way. See the Moon Planner section below.

    Saturn retrograde in Pisces
This combination causes fear and concern because our imagination can get away from us. However, Saturn’s retrograde status helps us recognise previous fear-inspired choices so we can create a better plan to resolve current issues. If struggling, rethink your game plan.

    Mars in Scorpio
Scorpio is Mars’s second home. Scorpio is more mystical and psychological than worldly. Still, Scorpio is a great guide to any endeavour. The sting of the Scorpio scorpion tells us when we are off track. Better, I suppose, to get on track BEFORE we feel the scorpion’s sting.

    Spiritual fulfilment
    Solar Eclipse (effects through October)
Being false stems from the fear of losing control. What you are seeking to use as the controller, however, is your fear… see the problem? Step back, look at your life objectively, then have the courage to be who you always knew you were. See the Moon Planner section below.

    Mars in Scorpio
Scorpio is where the will of Mars makes great gains in shining a light into the dark corners of the unconscious. This is why Scorpio is also the sign of mysticism and mystical experience. Now’s your chance to share a table with all the great mystics from the past.

    Ongoing

The Aditya corresponding to Libra is Vishnu which relates to the one who maintains order through both worldly and spiritual duties. This highlights the nature of Vishnu as the sign that relates to the transformation from king to sage, a necessary transformation on the path to liberation.
    😊

    Moon Planner
Has the Moon got you hurried and harried?

No worries! The Moon represents the feminine and your capacity to receive and recognise the resources you have available to fulfil your emotional needs.  Too often, we get distracted with what is not ours and miss out on the available opportunity, experiencing disappointment and disillusionment, or worse, we become like my hairy friend, Monsieur Lou Garou. 🤭

    This week
    Eclipse season is still unfolding
Eclipse season is still unfolding and, in simple terms, has been about needs (Lunar eclipse) and how we project our energy into the world (Sun). During the Lunar Eclipse 7 September, situations arose that forced latent emotional needs to the surface allowing us to ascertain whether these needs were helping us or hindering us. The Solar eclipse 21 September revealed where we are projecting a false image by causing situations that challenged how we perceive ourself. It is a poor and misaligned self-perception that causes us to avoid following our natural talents and capabilities. Together, the Lunar and Solar eclipses revealed where we are not supporting our authentic nature either through emotional integrity or in the application of skills.

This period is not necessarily conducive to experiencing outer success, but of realising a blossoming awareness into real needs and limiting needs that will bring success in the future.
