Revolution and Renewal
Issue 14 Volume 8 7 April 2025“If you resist change, you resist life.”
~~ SadhguruThere is no overnight solution. If we work at it, if in our whole life we work at it, if we leave 10% change, it’s a tremendous thing because social realities cannot be changed like this. People have tried to change it through violent methods. All you will do is you will replace one tyrant with many. That’s all that will happen in the name of revolutions.
~~ Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, yogi, mystic, humanitarian, NYT bestselling author
Dear Friend;
Louis L’Amour (1908 — 1988), the popular author known world-wide for his novels about the American West, once wrote, “The only thing that never changes is that everything changes.“ We work so diligently to create stability in our lives only to have the winds of fate remind us that we are not in control of anything except our inner experience — heaven forbid if we have tied our inner experience to the outer circumstances of life! As the old timer said to the ambitious young entrepreneur, “That’s a hard way to make a livin’.” 😉
Reading the day’s headlines, one senses that every aspect of life is undergoing the tremor of change. From AI’s future effects on culture and the workplace to trade deficits and trade wars, the world is experiencing a seismic shift and no one can be exactly sure of where we will find ourselves in the future. Nevertheless, each week in this newsletter, astrology, especially Mundane astrology, the branch of astrology that considers global trends, will help us understand what we will be facing in the years ahead.
Mundane astrology examines the horoscopes of nations, rulers, politicians, and other influential people as a means to better understand world events related to natural processes and geopolitics; it is among the oldest forms of astrology. After all, in centuries past, a King was better able to rule, and keep his kingdom, if he had some idea of what was coming down the road. In your case, you don’t have to wait to be crowned a King or Queen; this newsletter will help you rule your own personal kingdom with a better eye on future possibility.
Beginning this month, we shall take a closer look at the revolution affecting the world today. Revolution may be a surprising word to use, but it is exactly what is happening across North America and Europe with repercussions throughout the world. As always, things are rarely what they seem and the revolution that is happening is an opportunity that, in my lifetime at least, has not presented itself as raw and unfiltered as what we are witnessing now. Are we humans up to the task? Can we put aside our assumptions and simply look at world events without prejudice?
In Mundane astrology, the slower moving outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, the nodes, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto offer the greatest insight into long-term trends. Taking at least a year to traverse a single sign, Jupiter, Saturn, the outer planets reveal deep and profound changes at work within us and the global community. For this reason, much can be gleaned from analysing their position in the sky, especially in reference to a particular nation through the horoscopes of that nation’s leaders, inaugurations, and the birth chart.
At the end of May 2025, Saturn moves into Aries, its sign of debilitation in Vedic astrology. On a global scale, Saturn represents the karma we must go through and our capacity to experience it with a steady mind. As we saw in an earlier issue, Saturn in the Aditya sign of Dhata (Pisces) indicates difficulty in bearing what must be borne in order to resolve what needs to be resolved. In other words, an issue in the world today that will intensify later this year and through 2028 is that many will not have the will to make the changes they must make in order to help make their lives, and the world, a better place. Aries is our capacity to give energy to what is possible and Saturn, a planet of karmic pain, dulls this capacity by creating a sense that we have been victimised, that somehow, life has given us the short end of the stick.
A question we must ask is if playing the role of victim or encouraging others to be a victim is a legitimate means to a legitimate end? Too often, victimhood is encouraged by those seeking to manipulate emotions in order to gain a foothold to more money and power. If no victims come forward, they are created. This does not mean there is never any truth in a perceived injustice, but when a person’s power to change their life is overshadowed by the greed of powerful groups, aggression and violence unfolds. Indeed, for those with nefarious agendas, violence is welcomed as we have seen in Hamas’s campaign of fear in Gaza and in the violent attacks on Tesla owners in the United States.
The world is in need of a higher perspective and this can only come through an experience of one’s higher nature. Speaking about the need for a “meditation revolution”, Sadhguru says this:
Whenever we talk about revolution, most of the time people are talking about changing somebody, isn’t it? All the time rather. See, you wanting somebody else to change is not a revolution. This is an age old problem. Mother-in-law wants the daughter-in-law to change; daughter-in-law wants the mother-in-law to change, isn’t this an age old problem? Is there a revolution in it? What is revolutionary about it? You want somebody else to change – there is no revolution about it. ‘I am willing to change’ — this is a revolution. This will bring about genuine change in the world. That ‘I am willing to change my ways to make things happen’ – this will bring about the change.
There is a revolution happening in the world today… inside and out… but only the revolution on the inside will determine if the global revolution on the outside brings peace and prosperity… or slavery.
I prefer peace and prosperity. Will you join me?

21 MAR — 19 APR
An important aspect of the Sun is right action (dharma), i.e., right action at the right time. It is right action that burns away the darkness of the night each morning, warms the land, and brings forth the conditions for life. In Aries, a sign ruled by Mars, the Sun becomes exalted and is welcomed by Mars, the planet of directed will and focused attention. Aries is a fire sign that creates a conducive environment for the fire of the Sun. In Aries, the Sun enhances leadership potential, career, rules and laws, and vision. In Aries, the Sun’s innate capacity as a ruler allows it to rule over its kingdom with honour and integrity.
Fun Fact: Zodiac comes from the Greek zodiakos (kyklos) which literally means “circle of little animals” and is one indication of how astrological knowledge was shared between the cultures of Greece and India beginning in the time of Alexander the Great. For thousands of years before the Greeks, the Vedic culture used a 12-part circle which represented 12 aspects of the Sun (Adityas) and offer us some fascinating insights not gleaned from the Greeks.
The Aditya that corresponds to Aries is Aryama which means friend, companion, and life-partner who protects through noble cause, chivalry, and duty. Aryama provides the warmth that nurtures institutions and societal structures through just laws and sense of duty.

Has the Moon got you hurried and harried?
No worries! The Moon represents your capacity to receive, a feminine quality, and recognising the resources you have available to fulfil your emotional needs. Too often, we get distracted with what is not ours to have and miss out on the available opportunity, experiencing disappointment and disillusionment… or worse, we become like the poor fellow in the photo. 😄
Full Moon in Libra:
Sunday, 13 April: Full Moon in Libra (00:22 GMT)
According to mystics like Sadhguru, full moons magnify whatever your state of mind, good or bad. There is science behind this: just as full moons create higher than usual tides on earth, so there is a natural draw of fluids into your brain. Full Moons are a great opportunity to ascend to new emotional heights which can bring on deeper insights and intuition.
The Libra Full Moon can help you understand your relationship to others especially as they relate to your emotional needs. Venus rules Libra and as the planet of relationships, reveals the conditional love that exists in relationships as a contract between two people — Venus represents the “business” side of the relationship.
In the best “contracts”, each person offers to the other what they don’t need in order to get what they need. Lest you think this seems easily accomplished, it’s not because we often do not see what we are holding onto that is not serving the relationship, something, in fact that the other person actually needs in their life. For example, let us say you are someone who not only exerts control, but likes to control the relationship. Typically, you will be in relationship to someone you CAN control and is a reason you were attracted to them in the first place. Such a partner would tend to lack self esteem where you feel confidence. Thus, in this relationship, in order to experience harmony, you should hand over the need to control to the other person. It’s not that the other person will then be the controlling one; rather, by letting go the need to control, you are actually strengthening the other person’s sense of self. No relationship will prosper unless both parties are expressing authentically, i.e., without fear of reprisal or repercussion from the other.
This is a very simplistic example, of course. In actuality, relationships require nuance, insight, and deftness and is a reason why gurus love to put people together in some capacity. Renowned spiritual master Swami Muktananda was once asked how it was possible for him to keep track of all his disciples. He replied, “I don’t need to. I just put two people together and let them do all the work on each other.” 😂
Mother’s milk from mother Moon: Gurumayi of the Siddha lineage once shared with us two practical ways to harness the full moon energy. The first is to simply go somewhere quiet and gaze at the beauty of the full moon for an extended time paying close attention to your feelings. Another is to leave milk in a clear, covered glass overnight in a window sill where it will catch the full moon’s rays. In the morning, consume the milk. Milk easily absorbs the positive energy around it as well as neutralise negative energy and is used to purify jewellery of negative energies or unhelpful karmas that may be associated with the jewellery maker or previous owners. You can also do this as a jewellery rejuvenator every six months or so to keep your jewellery energetically fresh. It is best to use organic whole milk, raw if possible.Important upcoming dates (2025)

Neptune in AriesIssue 13 Volume 8 31 March 2025“The point is, art never stopped a war and never got anybody a job. That was never its function. Art cannot change events. But it can change people. It can affect people so that they are changed… because people are changed by art – enriched, ennobled, encouraged – they then act in a way that may affect the course of events… by the way they vote, they behave, the way they think.”

Dear Friend;
Guess what happened in 1861 and has not happened again… until yesterday!!
Neptune entered Aries!! 🥳
As one of the outer planets, it takes a rather long time for Neptune to go through the zodiac — 165 years to be exact. Imagine experiencing 40 year seasons; nice for spring, summer, and autumn, but that 40 year winter might get a bit old after a while. Nevertheless, considering the world has not seen Neptune in Aries since 1875 when it left Aries and entered Taurus, it’s probably a good idea to take a closer look at what to expect.
Neptune was first discovered in 1846 at the height of the Romantic movement which saw the West shift away from the ordered reason of the Enlightenment to a more subjective, emotional, and spiritual embrace of the world beginning in the late 18th century. Neptunes’s discovery during this period is an interesting “coincidence” as Neptune is the planet that relates to emotion, subjectivity, creativity, magic, fantasy, spirituality, and the hidden aspects of life. This shift can be seen through the change in art and philosophy of Europe and America during this period from rationalism to idealism. The image above by Bierstadt, for example, is a great example of how artists were representing nature more subjectively with the intention of emoting strong feelings of expansion and otherworldliness.
What does Neptune’s grand entrance into Aries mean for you?
The outer planets represent within you the force behind the blossoming of your consciousness, from limited to unlimited, from finite to infinite. Uranus is the power of the Moon through the nodes that is behind your blossoming authenticity. Neptune is the power of Jupiter behind your blossoming unconditional Love. Pluto is the power of the Sun behind the blossoming of your true identity, your God-consciousness.
As for Neptune, many astrologers link Neptune to the collective consciousness which is certainly a valid perspective. However, for students of the yogic sciences, we understand the collective consciousness as the one consciousness. Though both views are essentially saying the same thing, there is a subtle difference which may be easier to practice, i.e., everything I see is a part of me rather than everything I see is a part of us. The former points to your higher self, the Self that is beyond differentiation and separation and which is by nature connected to everything else.
Aries is the sign of vision, possibility, and potential. It relates to taking the lead and gathering your resources to ensure a positive outcome. Neptune in Aries is like a broom and can sweep aside false ideals that keep change from happening. What kind of broom are you using to sweep? Is it one made for the job or are you indiscriminately using a broom that is sweeping away the baby with the bath water?
The last time Neptune was in Aries was from 1861 to 1875, a period marked by social upheaval including the American Civil War, the rise of the women’s suffrage movement in both the US and Europe, and the emancipation of 23 million serfs in Russia. There are many indications that we are experiencing significant change in the world that will be fuelled to a greater degree while Neptune is in Aries through 2039.
What will this period mean for you?
While the outer planets are ultimately regarded as benevolent since they are pushing us towards our true Self, it is our resistance that creates turmoil and suffering. Resistance arises from ignorance and only a deeper awareness has the power to cut through the eons of drama and trauma that we hold in our subconscious energy channels. Thus, when an outer planet is pushing us towards a greater experience, we may experience the push as difficulty until we let go the need to control. It is not that we are relinquishing responsibility; rather, we are allowing our higher Self to do its job.
Neptune, for example, as the force behind Jupiter’s unconditional Love, can indicate having our attachments “swept away” as a means to teach us to be inclusive in our love and not exclusive. One of the most common vehicles Neptune uses is relationships. Going through a Neptune period that activates any relationship planets or houses can indicate a loss of one relationship and the birth of another. Even as a soul with limited understanding, this experience forces open our grip on one person (and one love) and makes us available to another. Ideally, of course, we would use this experience to become more anchored in universal love. For most, however, this experience is a very small step to unconditional love and a reason why it can take countless lifetimes to evolve even a little when left to our own devices.
Looking on the bright side: Neptune is that part of you that loves mystery, the unseen, what’s hidden and spiritual. It an aspect of your creativity and for this reason can really help artists, writers, philosophers, and spiritual seekers. This is especially true if you have Sun, Jupiter, or Moon, in Aries.
in the shadows: Because of latent unhealthy desires and proclivities, Neptune can indicate fooling ourselves and falling for the allure of others or of a promising situation that is not what it seems to be. The guard against any of Neptune’s seeming trickery is to always take the high road, i.e., to set your intentions for the good of the world. Doing so activates your Jupiter energy and protects you from the illusion that Neptune can signify. Still, in regard to the world, you must strive to educate yourself beyond your conditioned autopilot.
Into the dark pit: We are at risk of falling prey to our dark side when we refuse to acknowledge the shadow mind and understand how sneaky the ego can be in its desire to express itself. The ego is where our fear rules the roost. If we allow it to dominate, then Neptune’s greatness at showing where the source of Love exists in our heart will be twisted into an illusory embrace of what is not. Then we can find ourselves drawn to false gurus, nonsensical agendas, and even the dark side of the occult.
Much of the world news is dominated by a victim mentality. Instead of promoting responsible action, we are lead to believe that the fault lies everywhere but in ourselves. This is absolutely false and no spiritual giant from Christ to Meister Ekhart to Ramana Maharshi to Sadhguru and Ekhart Tolle has ever indicated we should look for answers anywhere but in ourselves. They promote compassion, but never pity. Compassion arises from love; pity arises from guilt.
The coming years will show us where we are off in our Neptune consciousness, especially through world events. Are we holding on so tightly that we no longer can determine what is real? Then we need a wake up call because we will be unable to see that we need to change. We will think that what is up is down, and what is right, is wrong.
Fortunately, Neptune is not only a great friend but an early riser who loves to give wake up calls.

Neptune in Aries!
- Neptune in Aries 2025 — 2039; first time since 1861 — 1875
- Neptune takes 165 years to go through the zodiac. Like Uranus and Pluto, Neptune’s slow journey through the signs adds colour and highlights which can have a subtle, but significant impact.
Do you want to be great? Pick up a broom and sweep the floor.
~ Mother Teresa (1910 – 1997) Catholic saint and Nobel laureate known for her missionary work with the poor in India
No disrespect towards Mother Teresa, but I will add, “Do you want to be greater? Take a broom and sweep your heart.“
Neptune symbolises the power within you to turn conditional love into the all-embracing, unconditional love of God. It’s not easy to do; this is why we need help. If we are very fortunate, help comes in the form of the guru/teacher who knows exactly what we need. The guru is the loving parent who guides us towards the goal as quickly and efficiently as possible. If we have no guru, then grace comes to us as our karma and forces us to either walk the razor’s edge… or fall off. Through trial and tribulation and cuts and scrapes, we eventually realise our infinite splendour.
Against all our cries of protest and the gnashing of teeth, God compassionately offers what we need to be free from suffering. Neptune is the God within helping us to become established in the one, truly inclusive love. Considering Neptune is in Aries for 14 years, you will get a lot of practice to hone this connection. Expect at least some of this to come from societal strife and confrontation. Aries is fire and fire means purification.
Practice Run
Neptune has just entered Aries so it will slowly move through the first degree of Aries through 10 June, then continue forward until it goes retrograde 5 July, re-enter Pisces on 22 October, then enter Aries again on 26 January, 2026. What all this means is that this year is a practice run for Neptune, a time when you can discover some of the ways it is influencing your chart and where in life Neptune is seeking to help you lower your resistance and embrace unconditional love.
Self-study
I encourage you to study your own horoscope. Knowledge is power. To help you along the way, I’ve outlined some simple steps below that follow the principles of Vedic astrology:- Obtain a copy of your horoscope using the tropical zodiac. NOTE: For those of you who opted for the eBook add-on after an astrology session with me, there will be a copy of your horoscope in your booklet. Otherwise, contact me and I will send you a copy of your horoscope free of charge.
- Look at your horoscope to determine if your rising sign or any planets are in Aries.
- Use the tables below to get a quick idea of the areas of your life that will be impacted by Neptune over the next 14 years. The impact increases as Neptune gets closer to any planets in Aries, especially < 5 degrees. Because Neptune moves so slowly, it can impact a planet for several months or even years.
- Sun: physical health, public image, career, father/authority
- Moon: needs, emotions, materiality, mother
- Mercury: communication, business deals, school work, investigation
- Venus: conditional love, contracts, relationships, diplomacy, material comfort, beauty
- Mars: action, decision making, land, house, vehicles, fitness
- Jupiter: unconditional love, children, finances, wealth, guru, spiritual inclination
- Saturn: construction, disease, chronic illness, death, government, karma
- Ketu (South node): the past, constriction, stillness, insight, intuition, where you have been
- Rahu (North node): desire, dreams, activity, impetus, where you are going
- First House (Rising sign or Ascendant): personality, physical appearance, health, ego, self, body
- Second House: wealth, possessions, financial status, speech, poetry, communication
- Third House: performance and performing arts, writing, siblings, neighbours, short journeys
- Fourth House: home, family, vehicles, cemeteries, emotional security, mother
- Fifth House: creativity, romance, children, education, spiritual practice
- Sixth House: health, work, service, enemies, disease, illness
- Seventh House: partnerships, marriage, business relationships, sexuality
- Eighth House: secrets, transformation, inheritance, longevity, psychology, accidents, chronic disease, mysticism, unearned income, financial gain from partnerships
- Ninth House: philosophy, higher education, travel, ethics, father, guru
- Tenth House: career, public life, social status, government, authority
- Eleventh House: long term goals, friendships, income, community, networking
- Twelfth House: losses, solitude, isolation, spiritual liberation, places of confinement, sexual pleasure
I am purposefully keeping this very simple so you can begin to contemplate your unique situation. It’s also important to understand we humans are not black and white but grey. At times we are selfish, at other times we are selfless. The inherent chance in an eclipse is not to beat yourself up, but to gain a deeper understanding of what motivates you to do what you do then take positive action.
We were born into this world precisely because we do not have all the answers. This creates a subconscious fear that arises only because we believe ourselves to be weak. This distrust in ourself puts us in survival mode. When we become aware of the potential energy within us, we can better arrange our life so that our energy can be guided toward a constructive outcome. This is an internal process; not an outward one, though from our internal expansion, our outer circumstances improve.Important upcoming dates (2025)

― Persian proverb
He who knows, knows not.
Dear Friend;
Spring has sprung… have you noticed?
On the Forth estuary in the Scottish village where I live, it seems everyone and everything is experiencing the joy of renewal. From out the window of my second floor flat on this glorious morning, the world appears wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. A chorus of songbirds below me blends melodiously with the tenor of gull-speak above creating a symphony Handel or Beethoven would envy. Further out somewhere in a neighbour’s yard, the sound of a lawn mower mimics the deep resonance of an omnipresent Aum from which all is born… what is it about the smell of fresh cut green grass that is so intoxicating? 🤔
Familiarity breeds contempt is a phrase with far reaching implications. At first glance, we understand that the Roman playwright who wrote these words in the 2nd century BCE was likely pointing out how the more we know someone, the more chance their opinions and mannerisms will trigger our conditioned mind into no longer respecting them. Nevertheless, as a contemplative, I enjoy examining things from different angles, especially from my personal experience.
Many years ago as a young software engineer while driving the 75-minute commute to my place of work, I reflected upon a verse from the Guru Gita, a transcendent Indian scripture found in the Skanda Purana. The planets must have been auspiciously aligned for in the blink of an eye, a veil was lifted from the banality of the world around me and I saw everything as if for the first time: the road, the cars around me, the utility poles, the buildings. I had made this commute hundreds of times before, but on this morning, everything was fresh, alive, and vibrant.
Lest you think I was a menace to the other drivers while experiencing this new found state of mind, it was not that I lost the knowledge of an object (most of all the car I was driving); rather, it was that I had lost any preconceived notions regarding the object. Familiarity had been erased and in its place was the exuberance of a new experience.
He who knows not, knows.
~ Guru GitaIn a certain way, familiarity is the bane of human existence. It “breeds contempt” because familiarity carries with it the baggage of a conditioned mind. As a survival and social mechanism, familiarity is quite useful, but as a support for Life, it destroys the inherent joy of being alive and colours the world in our ignorance.
The reason we feel so alive in the spring is because life has renewed itself after a long winter of forgetfulness and we experience this rejuvenation through new sprouts, fragrant blossoms, and the singing of cicadas, frogs, and birds. The truth is that every day we can experience this renewal, in every moment and in everything when we allow our senses to detach from expectation. This takes a deepening connection to the underlying fabric of life, an awareness of the canvas upon which this world is painted.
You are the artist. It’s just that you have been painting your world in the colours of your past. Look out with fresh eyes. Open yourself to the fabric of life. Get to know its exquisite weave, its priceless thread.
Impossible, you say? Not at all. You are made in the image of God and that image is Love. Love, you see, is the fabric of life.

No worries! The Moon represents your capacity to receive, a feminine quality, and recognising the resources you have available to fulfil your emotional needs. New Moon Eclipse in Aries (Max at 10:57AM GMT)
#21 in Saros series #149
Period of strongest effects: 29 FEB thru 29 APR
Quick Read:
This solar eclipse offers a significant opportunity to embrace a new approach from what you have been doing the past 18 years in the areas in your horoscope touched by the eclipse.
More
Who: You — especially if you have any planets or your ascendent within 29 degrees Pisces to 19 degrees Aries.
What: Solar eclipse (New Moon) — signifying end of one cycle and beginning of a new cycle of activity related to the house and planets affected in your horoscope
Where: 9 degrees Aries
When: 29 March. Note: this eclipse is active from about late February through late April.
Why: Related to the house and planets affected for you, this eclipse indicates a shift from your usual approach over the past 18 years to a new approach involving Mercury (communication) and Venus (relationship) and the houses they rule.
How: Mercury is the planet of investigation; thus, this eclipse signals the end of trying one way and embracing another.
And a bit more…
Examining the first solar eclipse in this cycle (21 AUG 1664), we find that this cycle is about trying a new approach (Mercury) and committing to this approach over the long term (Venus). With a positive aspect from Pluto, this reveals how a change in how you accept yourself creates the motive to try something new. At the same time, Pluto does indicate a certain amount of trepidation to embrace the new approach. Once the commitment is made, positive results are realised.
More specifically, the indications of this current solar eclipse show a stronger Mercury influence and less Venusian. This means that while you will assume a new approach, there is less commitment — more of a wait and see attitude. For example, if your relationship house is affected, though you may commit in the short-term, it is from a place of investigation and experimentation, and not from a feeling of “this is the one.” Thus, your feelings about the relationship are more aloof and non-binding. If it works, great! If it doesn’t, you’ll move on.
Eclipses are felt strongest by those who have planets or their ascendent directly affected. Others can still be affected, but it is typically less noticeable and more of an internal change. If you are one of these, then you may experience a subconscious change that is only understood in hindsight.

I encourage you to study this eclipse through your own horoscope. To help you along the way, I’ve outlined some simple steps below:- Obtain a copy of your horoscope using the tropical zodiac. - Look at your horoscope to determine if your rising sign or any planets are within 10 degrees of the Sun and/or Moon on either side. The Sun and Moon for this eclipse are at 9 degrees Aries.

We were born into this world precisely because we did not have all the answers. This creates a subconscious fear that arises only because we believe ourselves to be weak. This distrust in ourself puts us in survival mode. When we become aware of the potential energy within us, we can better arrange our life so that our energy can be guided toward a constructive outcome. This is an internal process; not an outward one, though from our internal expansion, our outer circumstances improve.
It’s also possible that some people will only notice a slight difference during this eclipse; some not at all, especially if you do not have any planets within ten degrees of the eclipse line. However, it may also be that some people won’t notice a difference because they are generally unenthused about life or they are always distracting themselves from anything uncomfortable with their nonsense. Feeling uncomfortable means opportunity and opportunity knocks loudest when we are paying attention to Life. Perception is everything.
Of course, it may also be that you notice no difference because you are a free soul and the stars and planets are your loyal servants who prostrate at your feet in devotion…
This, my friend, is very good. 🤗Eclipse Special: If you would like to go over in detail the potential and possibility of this eclipse for you personally, I am offering an eclipse special: £35/hr online; audio recorded. Contact me here. Important upcoming dates (2025)

Using astrology, yogic science, and the archaeology of now
to understand world eventsIt can be useful to examine world events from the perspective of the astrology of the players involved, not just in understanding the forces behind occurrences, but in understanding the tendencies of our own mind. Human beings have similar inner challenges which mundane astrology can help us understand… This week:
Globalisation: turning the world grey
Venus is the spice that makes human life enjoyable
“No black people, no white, no yellow, no red. They came from every part of the earth to work at the World Planning Center or to look at it, from Thailand, Argentina, Ghana, China, Ireland, Tasmania, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Honduras, Lichtenstein. But they all wore the same clothes, trousers, tunic, rain cape; and underneath the clothes they were all the same color. They were gray.”
~ Ursula K LeGuin (1929 — 2018), American author especially known for thought-provoking science fiction/fantasy; from The Lathe of Heaven (1971)
Question: Would you like to live in a world of grey?
Variety is the spice of life; it’s one of the great attributes of Venus which represents the external world and all its beauty and variety. The enemies of Venus are the Sun (authority) and the Moon (emotional needs). In a global context, the ruling authority (Sun) can stymie the free expression of Venus either through policies and regulations enacted to control others or through overreach: government may have good intentions, but not be aware of the consequences, turning a colourful world into a world of grey. This is both an unintended result of globalisation and its intention. Both are true.
LeGuin’s novel The Lathe of Heaven is about a man whose dreams become the present reality. His psychiatrist knows this and seeks to change the world through hypnotic suggestion. At one point, the psychiatrist wants to end racism on Earth. When the protagonist awakes, he finds everyone not only wearing the same clothes, but all human beings are coloured grey.
Would this really end racism? Perhaps, but we humans are experts at emphasising our differences. We would likely latch onto some other characteristic and divide our world according to such. Prejudice will always be around as long as we remain separate from the underlying principle of unity that connects us all. Until then, the world tends to live in a near constant state of personal bias.
Personal bias is well documented; much research reveals how a human being is conditioned even while still in the mother’s womb. In Vedic astrology, it is understood that the horoscope is a map of one’s karmic stream from previous lives. This makes eradicating prejudice through legislation impossible for a person’s perception is not just about what they acquired in this lifetime but is influenced by countless lifetimes. Thus, an external remedy will never be found for prejudice; rather, only by raising human consciousness will old stories be transcended and we relate to one another not according to superficial differences but from the unifying principle that connects us all beyond the physical.
Inclusion happens because our perception transforms to include all life not as some fanciful abstract notion but as an experience of the one reality. Any inclusive doctrine that attempts to change ‘me’ to ‘us’ is doomed to fail because the answer does not lie in ‘us” — it is only found in the experience of “I-ness”, the sense of “I am”. In this state, the self-imposed boundaries between you and I disappear. There is no ‘us’, there is just ‘me’, so-to-speak, but this me is unlimited and boundless and I look upon you as my own Self. In such a state, prejudice of any kind simply cannot exist.
As the adage says, variety is the spice of life. Who wants to live in a grey world? One of the great beauties of human existence is the variety of cultures and races that populate the Earth. As a young man, I would at times throw several weeks of canned food and a sleeping bag in the back of my car and crisscross the width and breadth of the United States. Over a summer’s worth of traveling, I could embrace the friendliness of the Deep South, the activity of New York, and the cowboy culture of the West. Each area had its unique style in food, architecture and most of all, people. Yet, beneath all the differences, a river of undeniable unity strung us together like pearls on a single strand.
Like many ideas from good-hearted people, it does not appear that globalisation’s time has come because human beings simply do not have the consciousness to embrace it in a beautiful manner. As currently propagated, globalisation risks stamping out diversity and turning the world into a bland soup. More concerning is how globalisation has become a tool for those who seek more: more power, more wealth, more control. Control is easier in a world of grey.
In time, human consciousness will rise and a world united will be a reality where love of one’s neighbours coexist with national and ethnic pride because variety in life is treasured and respected. In such a world, diversity will be a natural consequence of a conscious society. Until then, we can focus on helping to raise human consciousness… beginning with our own which is easiest…
After all, there is only one.

~ Benjamin Franklin, (1706 — 1790), American writer, scientist, inventor, statesman, diplomat, printer, publisher and political philosopher.
Image © Abraham teaches astrology to the Egyptians (1665) by Antonio Zanchi (1631 – 1722)The insanity of the collective egoic mind, amplified by science and technology, is rapidly taking our species to the brink of disaster. Evolve or die: that is our only choice now.
~ Eckhart Tolle, German-born spiritual teacher and bestselling author (Power of Now, A New Earth)
Dear Friends;
It seems that each new day reveals more of what Ekhart Tolle refers to as the “collective insanity”… and a clear indication that society is more eager to believe than we are to learn.
A woman I know from America shared how she has been harassed, threatened, gestured at obscenely, and dangerously cut off while driving because she drives a Tesla, a model she chose because it was designed by Elon Musk to be one of the safest cars on the road. What she and other Tesla owners did not anticipate when signing the title at the dealership was that they would be subjected to a violent backlash against Musk funded by corrupt megadonors and spurred on by dangerous rhetoric from unconscious politicians and podcasters and a biased media. This week in Oregon, criminal activists came out of the shadows and raked a Tesla dealership with gunfire while firebombing another with homemade Molotov cocktails. The reason? They object to Musk’s attempts to increase government efficiency and reduce waste in America.
Moreover, it matters not that owners like this woman have liberal views and do what they can to reduce their carbon footprint including buying Teslas; these activists seek to make a statement and Left leaning Tesla owners are simply collateral damage. In the tortured minds of these individuals, the ends always justify the means — including violence, vandalism, destruction, disruption… and even murder.
Has the world gone mad? Have we? Are we part of the collective insanity? 🤔
Eckhart Tolle has discussed the concept of “collective insanity” both in public appearances and in his books “The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment” and “A New Earth: Awakening to YourLife’s Purpose”. He describes the collective egoic mind, amplified by technology, science, and social media, as rapidly taking humanity to the brink of disaster, and suggests that “normal” behaviour on this planet can often equal insanity due to complete identification with one’s thought and emotion. Like seeking like, these identifications find a home among each other and form a collective that no longer capable to see what is real.
In global astrology, Jupiter and Saturn represent the pillars of a balanced society where its members are in harmony with one another. Jupiter represents wisdom and the desire to benefit all life. Saturn is discipline, objectivity, and most critical, the capacity to let go of what is not working. When either of these planets are troubled within us, the integrity of our mind is destabilised and we find ourselves stuck in belief systems that support neither the greater good nor our own health and wellbeing. In such a state, emotions become unstable and assume a position of rigid authority in our mental landscape. Whether leaning left or right, extreme views fuelled by familial, social, cultural, and economic bias have turned the world into a chamber of horrors.
Consider these words by Sadhguru:
Why can’t you learn to not take a position on anything? To conduct a particular activity we take positions but there is no reason to take a position to live. If you want to know life you should not take any position or any opinion about anything. The moment you form an opinion, that means you are not open to anything else…
Conclusion means death. Life means no conclusion. Instead of sharpening your vision you’re drawing a conclusion because conclusion brings a certain certainty. It brings a certain confidence. Confidence without clarity is a disaster.
The greatest enemy to truth is belief. Belief shuts down your capacity to learn what is real and makes you a “useful idiot”, an unwitting pawn who does the bidding of the powerful. Belief blinds you to reality and leads to conflict. It is born from a calculating mind fearful for its survival. When we believe, we shut the door on learning, we shut the door on truth.
The roots of some beliefs are shallow and, with effort, can be overcome by a caring teacher or an open mind willing to say “I don’t know” and the courage to listen to another’s views. Some beliefs, however, are deeply etched into the stone walls of our subconscious and only an experience of seismic proportions can tear the wall down so we can see the light.
It just so happens we are in the midst of a chance to experience our walls crumbling… if we are willing.
The lunar eclipse on 14 March is a chance to transform the way we experience life, both inside and out. Especially in those areas of our horoscope affected by the eclipse, we have the chance to let go of the false ideas we carry that have held us back for so long. It’s a chance to tear off the blinders that have prevented us from seeing things as they really are.
Our nonsense is rooted in the graveyard of the past where it projects an imagined future. It is only in the present that Life is lived, that Love is found. Throw yourself at the feet of this week’s possibility and you will come to realise why you are here. I’ll do the same, then together, we will create that better world of which we so often dream.
More details are offered below including suggestions on how to make the best use of this eclipse. It’s a real opportunity for you to see where in your life wrong ideas and misunderstanding are keeping you small. Whatever gains you make will reverberate across the universe in ways that are hard to even imagine.
Join me to make a real difference.

New Moon Eclipse in Pisces (06:58 GMT)
Saros series #123
Period of strongest effects: 14 FEB thru 14 APR
Quick Read:
Who: You!!
What: Lunar eclipse (full moon)
Where: Virgo
When: 14 March, but this eclipse is active from about the middle of February through April.
Why: Its purpose is to reveal where in your life you are hanging onto old ideas, people, or situations that are keeping you stuck.
How: Situations will arise that will show where you are struggling in your life to fulfil an emotional need (as indicated by the signs, houses, and planets touched by this eclipse in your horoscope). This may bring up frustration, disappointment, depression, worry, or concern. However, this is a blessing because it is here that you are being false. It is here that you are clinging onto a way of doing that is not helpful. Thus, this eclipse can awaken the seed of change within you and inspire new and improved actions. This is not about changing outer circumstances but about discovering and rooting out tendencies in yourself that lead to dead ends.
More
This lunar eclipse is about revealing where you hold a poverty of consciousness that is affecting aspects of your life touched by this eclipse. The opportunity is to transform how you approach this area of life by letting go the false idea which will then make room for new directions. This revelation may come through situations or simply arise in your consciousness. It can be challenging, especially if you do not understand that the old way is not working and needs to be jettisoned.
Understand, however, this is not about changing something on the outside. Self-examination during this period is critical if you want to improve the outer situation. When you make the change on the inside, then naturally the outside follows. This is the law.
And a bit more…
Are you ready for a breakthrough? 🤗 🌝
By definition, a lunar eclipse occurs on a full moon. Each lunar eclipse offers an honest assessment of your life related to the houses and planets touched by the eclipse in your horoscope. This assessment pertains to who and what you have been over the past 18 years (March 2007) which was the last full moon eclipse in this particular series. Every lunar eclipse rewards you in the areas of life it touches in relation to how well you have been living your life according to your authentic nature. The effects of the eclipse begin about a month before the eclipse to about a month after.
Lunar eclipses are felt most profoundly by those who have their Ketu (South node) within a few degrees of the Moon and most intensely by those who have their rising sign, cusps, or any planets near the Moon. The Moon represents needs and emotions. For this eclipse, the Moon is about 24 degrees Virgo.
A very helpful eclipse though perhaps a bit uncomfortable…
Considering the original eclipse in this series in August 1087, a very useful technique, we find a square aspect from Saturn on the Moon and a sextile aspect from Pluto. This indicates how the prevailing energy of this eclipse through all permutations over the next 1300 years or so have had and will have a theme of pointing out what you miss on the outside as an expression of what you lack on the inside. In other words, this eclipse becomes very helpful at pointing out where limited ideas about who you are and what you are capable of is keeping you stuck.
For example, if you are struggling financially, this eclipse will show you where you have a poverty of consciousness keeping you in financial limbo. This is where change (Pluto) needs to happen. You have assumed an emotional position that makes you feel safe and secure, but in reality, it is what is holding you back. This is what you need to let go (Saturn) in order to change the dynamic (Pluto) and experience emotional fulfilment (the Moon). Since the effect of this eclipse began a month ago, you should have some idea what this false idea is that you have been clutching. Examine any aspects of your life where you have been banging your head against a brick wall. This issue, you see, is not outside of you. Change the prescription of your glasses and you’ll experience a breakthrough.

I am purposefully keeping this very simple so you can begin to help yourself. It’s also important to understand we humans are not black and white but grey. At times we are selfish, at other times we are selfless. This lunar eclipse has the capacity to shine a light on your shadow mind where you make stupid choices that are self-centred and hurtful to others and ultimately to yourself.
Being self absorbed only happens because we believe ourselves to be weak. This distrust in ourself puts us in survival mode. When we become aware of the potential energy within us, we can better arrange our life so that our energy can be guided toward a constructive outcome. This is an internal process; not an outward one.
It’s also possible that some people will not notice any difference during this eclipse period from other days if they do. not have any planets within ten degrees of the eclipse line. However, it may also be that some people won’t notice a difference because they are generally unenthused about life or they are always distracting themselves from anything uncomfortable with their nonsense. Feeling uncomfortable means opportunity.
Of course, it may also be that you notice no difference because you are a free soul and the stars and planets are your toys…
Now wouldn’t this be a wonderful thing? 🤗Eclipse Special: If you would like to go over in detail the potential and possibility of this eclipse for you personally, I am offering an eclipse special: £35/hr online; audio recorded. Contact me here.Important upcoming dates (2025)

Retrograde Significations
Current retrograde status- Mars ends retrograde: February 24, 2025
- The 30 degrees assigned to Cancer in the Greek and Hindu zodiacs correspond in Vedic astrology to the sign of Indra which relates to victory. Mars is debilitated in Cancer and becomes “sleepy”. It’s easy to see why when you consider Indra, i.e., personal will is not needed in achieving victory. Indeed, personal will can get in the way in achieving the objective. Thus, Mars in Cancer has great potential, but achieves its greatest potential when personal will is sublimated to universal will.
- How? Through Jupiter. A strong Jupiter guides the Mars energy towards fulfilling good and noble deeds for the benefit of all. Increase Jupiter through spiritual practice, acts of charity, creative pursuits, and giving love to children.
